Elert & Associates has worked with Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) on several significant projects. In January 2001, the first project began that included the technology design for the new Wheelock Whitney Library located on a main thoroughfare in downtown Minneapolis. The first two floors of the Wheelock Whitney Hall are to be used by MCTC as their main library, while the third fl oor is a state-of-the-art conference center, to be used by both MCTC and the downtown business community for technology training and high-tech presentations.
In 2003, Elert & Associates was selected to assist the College with the technology design for a major remodel of the T-Building. This project included a phased remodel of all or portions of each of the 5 levels of the campus' central building.
In 2004, Elert & Associates was selected to upgrade/enhance parking ramp security in the College’s 4-level parking ramp. System design included additional cameras, recording equipment, paging and emergency call stations.
In 2005, Elert & Associates was selected to design a campus-wide emergency notifi cation/overhead paging system throughout all campus buildings.
In 2006, Elert & Associates was selected to assist the College with the technology design for new Management Education Center. This project was a co-location for Metro State University and MCTC.
In 2007, Elert & Associated was chosen for technology design of the New MCTC Health Science Building. This project included a complete remodel of the newly acquired building located one block east of the existing campus. It included complete remodel of all three levels totaling approximately 80,000 sq. ft.
In 2008, Elert & Associates worked with the a selected architectural firm for the technology and security design for the Metro State University and Minneapolis Community & Technical College Law Enforcement Training Facility located in Brooklyn Park, MN.
With the exception of the paging and parking ramp security projects, each of the above listed projects included complete technology design of the voice, data and video infrastructure, AV/Multimedia presentation and premise security systems including access control and video surveillance. Elert & Associated created bid documents, chaired pre and post bid meetings and handled all contract administration services through project completion. Elert & Associates has been instrumental in assisting the College to create technology standards using these established systems as guidelines, ensuring consistency in system design and performance.
