The City of Savannah, GA was interested in viable options for replacing their telephone system and was interested in making a move from a GTA Centrex service to a premise-based solution.
Elert & Associates completed a study and provided the City with a comprehensive report which outlined options, including expected costs for this move.
As part of the study, Elert & Associates conducted individual and departmental interviews, reviewed and evaluated their existing voice and data networks, inter and intrabuilding cable infrastructure, and GTA billing. From this report, the City elected to move forward with a premise-based VoIP telephone system to include, all new data electronics, and a new intrabuilding cable infrastructure that included CAT 6 cable with a fiber backbone.
Elert & Associates then assisted the City with the development of detailed specifications for all three components, evaluation of respondent proposals, vendor capabilities and selection, and Phase I implementation project oversight.
The overall project consisted of over 60 City locations and approximately 1,200 total telephones.
