Project Profile: Minnesota Department of Human Services Headquarters Building & Data Center
E&A was retained to provide technology, communications, and security consulting and design services for a new 410,000 square foot State of Minnesota Department of Human Services facility in collaboration with the BWBR architect team.
This building has a 3,100 square foot data center and network operations center.
E&A developed space requirements and adjacencies during the programming phase.
During schematic design, we calculated anticipated power and cooling loads and developed potential room layout options.
In the detailed design phase, our work included creating rack/cabinet and cable tray layouts, coordinating location of electrical and cooling facilities, and developing written specifications for the technology infrastructure elements. We then developed drawings and narrative specifications for the construction documents for those elements.
Elert & Associates also inspected the work of the technology contractors, and ensured thorough communications with all parties.
