Project Profile: Minneapolis Convention Center Video Surveillance System
In 2009, Elert & Associates was selected to assist the City of Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Convention Center staff with an overhaul and upgrade of their premise video surveillance system, including upgrading and adding cameras and a new IP video management solution. The project also included redesigning the Convention Center’s CAS command center.
The project consisted of 230 interior and exterior cameras at the Convention Center and 35 cameras within the Convention Center’s parking ramplocated across the street.
In Phase I, Elert & Associated created a schematic design report detailing current system findings, options, recommendations, and costs for the subsequent phases.
Phase II included a complete system design with detailed project drawings, technical specifications, and complete construction documents.
E&A also chaired pre- and post-bid meetings.
E&A has been retained for the next phase in the project, consisting of detailed contract administration and commissioning of the system installation through project completion.
